Polartec announces Polartec FattyFest, a daylong celebration of fat bikes, Saturday March 11 at the Adventure Center at Waterville Valley Resort
Main Story. 02. 16.
(Andover, Mass.) - February 16, 2017 - Polartec, the premium provider of innovative textile solutions, announces Polartec FattyFest, a daylong celebration of fat bikes, Saturday, March 11 at the Adventure Center at Waterville Valley Resort.
Fat bikes are bicycles with extra fat tires that allow you to ride on snow. Polartec FattyFest will offer first-timers and experts alike the opportunity to demo fat bikes on a casual test ride, and even participate in an organized race.
To explain and demonstrate fatbiking in anticipation of Polartec FattyFest, Polartec releases a video featuring professional cyclist and Polartec ambassador Dylan McNicholas.
“What materials like carbon fiber and titanium have done for hardware innovation in cycling, Polartec has done for cycling apparel through fabric innovation,” says Gary Smith, Polartec CEO. “The combination of Polartec fabric science and fat bikes allow people to get out and ride comfortably year round without worrying about their gear.”
“With FattyFest we have a perfect showcase for emerging fat bike culture,” adds Arlon Chaffee, organizer of FattyFest. “Demo bikes, equipment and gear will all be displayed in a gorgeous setting. Plus, this winter has delivered plenty of snow to ride upon. It’s going to be a great day.”
