K-Way & LC23 x Polartec®

Leonardo Colacicco, founder of the fashion brand LC23,<br />collaborates with K-Way® to create unique fleece armchair

LC23 and K-Way® have created the first ever fleece armchair using Polartec® fabrics in an exclusive collaboration.

Launched on the 8^th of September for the autumn/winter ’21 season, K-Way’s Polartec® armchair offers excellent breathability and superior thermal insulation. Polartec was the perfect partner for this collaboration having been at the forefront of technical textile innovation for 30 years. In 1981, Polartec’s founder, Malden Mills, invented polar synthetic fleece. It was the first to knit, nap and shear synthetic yarns into thermal fabric. By 1991 Polartec® had become a brand with its polyester fibres being used for outdoor apparel because of their versatile durability, lightweight warmth and fast dry times.

Whilst the armchair body uses Polartec fabrics, the cushions have been crafted from technical nylon, an iconic symbol of K-Way’s style. It features a practical zip pocket made from waterproof nylon ripstop: a celebration of K-Way’s functional DNA, complete with the brand’s unmistakable striped tape.

Leonardo Colacicco whose brand, LC23, is world-renowned for its bright colours and comfortable, laid back style says: “When I was first asked to design a sofa for K-Way, I instantly knew that my starting point had to be the brand’s colours. I definitely drew inspiration from the white Polartec range as well as other nylon pieces in blue, orange and yellow, K-Way’s defining colours”.

The Polartec armchair from the K-Way x LC23 collaboration will be available as part of a limited edition from 8^th September 2021 on k-way.com.
